Acquisition and summary

Speak with Katherine. Pander to her erudite superiority by commenting on pedantic use of the word "need". Followup by commenting on her attention to her phone, and ask who would ever be a dick to her. Then, either Followup by offering to get her a drink, or comment that she is still using her phone; both options result in Katherine accepting (or demanding) your drink (Opportunity Katherine Needs a Drink discovered).

In short, you need to get Katherine some rum.

Walkthrough

You can then ask Katherine what kind of drinks she likes. She states that she wants rum. Unfortunately, the only rum in the house is in the liquor cabinet in the Dining Room, guarded by Frank.

Quick method

Talk to Frank, then talk to Patrick. Warn Patrick about Frank, then ask Patrick how he hides his wine. Narc on Patrick to Frank, then get the Rum from the Liquor Cabinet while he's away from his post.

Alternately, before speaking with Frank, right-click on the Rum to take it in your hand. Frank will warn you to put it down. Put it down out of his sight (in front of the stove in the Kitchen works), then pick it up out of sight of both Leah and Frank.

Speak with Katherine, then follow the following reply chain:

• I feel like we use the word "need" outside of its intended purpose.
• I notice you keep looking at your phone.  Is everything ok?
• Who would ever be a dick to you, ever?
• I could use a drink.  Want me to grab you one? (Opportunity "Katherine Needs a Drink" discovered)

After this dialogue chain, give Katherine the Rum (Opportunity "Katherine Needs a Drink" complete).

Full method

Ask Frank whether he's just gonna guard the alcohol, then ask his opinion of Katherine.

Go to Katherine and tell her that Frank's guarding the alcohol, and that he likely has a crush on her. She will express frustration and disgust, respectively.

Go to Frank and ask whether you can talk to Katherine on his behalf. He will decline, but ask for topless photos of Katherine (Opportunity Look at This Photograph! discovered).

Tell Katherine of Frank's offer, and she will decline, as she does not want to be topless in front of the party guests, and she is not leaving this spot because this is the only place in the house where she gets a decent phone signal (Opportunity Katherine's Dilemma discovered).

If you ask Derek for advice on getting Katherine somewhere private, he will tell you that she's glued to her phone, so the only way to get her to move is by messing with her phone reception.

Through background chatter, Ashley will mention that her phone's signal will sometimes be interrupted:

Ashley: Derek, you don't understand. It's like living with a camp counselor at a Christian Youth Camp.
Derek: Madison's not that bad...
Ashley: Dude, you don't get it. She's so particular about her beauty sleep that if I'm ever talking too loud on the phone, or Facetiming someone, almost like magic, the signal gets interrupted.
Derek: Like a cell phone jammer? I think you're imagining things, Ash.
Ashley: You're too biased. I know she's finding a way to interrupt my phone calls. And when I find out how...

Go to the garage and collect the Cell Phone Jammer, then go to Madison's bedroom and collect the Camera, then to the Study Room and collect the SD Card. Insert the SD Card into the Camera, then move to Katherine and Turn On the Cell Phone Jammer. Keep it on and follow Katherine until she walks to a place in the house where you can be alone with a closed door (typically either the Garage or the Art Room).

With the door closed, ask about taking the topless pic, and Katherine will agree (Opportunity "Katherine's Dilemma" complete). Talk with her again, and ask her to take her top off. Talk to her again and ask her to go truly topless. You can then ask Katherine to perform a number of poses, but the pic only needs to be of her without a shirt or bra.

If someone enters the room during the photoshoot, Katherine will immediately put her clothes back on. You will have to find a way to get the other person out of the room before Katherine will proceed.

NOTE: If you ask her to remove her skirt or start pleasuring herself for the photo, she will put her clothes back on and you will lose Friendship and Romance points with her (Down to Acquaintance-level Friendship and Cold Shoulder-level Romance if this guide is followed). If you have already taken at least one topless pic of her, this will not jeopardize your opportunities with Katherine, and you can still have sex with her later if desired. However, if you have not yet taken a topless pic, you will have to find an alternate way to get the Rum from the Liquor Cabinet (see Quick Method below). Once Katherine gets the Rum, Katherine's Dilemma will be completed along with Katherine Needs a Drink.

After you have collected the topless pic(s), you can ask her to take a break or simply leave the room. Return to Frank and give him the Camera. He will allow you to take one item from the cabinet. Take the Rum.

Return to Katherine and, out of sight of both Frank and Leah, give her the Rum (Opportunity Katherine Needs a Drink complete).

Alternate path

If you are trying to complete Stephanie's quests, after you acquire the rum, find the Laxative in Madison's closet, then use the Laxative with the Rum to get Tampered Rum. Give the Tampered Rum to Katherine (Opportunities Katherine Needs a Drink and Katherine's Dilemma missed, opportunity Apply Pressure discovered).

Next step

Talk with Katherine again and take a swig of the rum with her to discover Game Jam. Talk with her and ask about a 100% chance of getting into her pants to discover Express Yourself. If you gave her Tampered Rum, simply wait a couple of minutes to complete Apply Pressure and move on with Stephanie.
